Schedule:

Location:
Join instructor Hannah Garry (owner and manager of Blazing Star Cafe in Decorah, IA) for a cocktail class that brings the freshness of the herb garden into your cocktail shaker!
In the class we'll learn a little bit about the traditional Scandinavian spirit, aquavit. Then we’ll explore cocktail crafting techniques that allow us to infuse the fresh, herbal flavors of the garden into our drinks, like herbal simple syrups, teas, and infused spirits. We'll make three refreshing, aquavit cocktails with fresh herbs that highlight aquavit’s unique flavor profile.
You can use the provided drink recipes as inspiration for your next garden party or take this class with friends, family, or fellow gardeners and enjoy sampling your coursework together after class is over.
This Vesterheim cooking class is designed as a small-group cook-along and we invite exchange between the instructor and students in order to build community around food traditions. In this same spirit of sharing, we invite the whole family to experience this collaborative cooking and learning process. Only one registration is needed per household.
