Description
Be the proud owner of a warm and fluffy sheepskin muff you made yourself! Participants will cut, print, and stitch sheepskin and create an adjustable strap. The strap can be worn around the neck or waist. A muff is great for dog walkers or anyone doing cold weather outdoor activities with a need to keep hands warm and fingers accessible. There will be plenty of time to finish the project in class, but the final stitching may be completed at home.
Prerequisites
Hand strength to stitch through layers of leather.
Supplies
There will be a $70 materials fee payable to the instructor that includes enough sheepskin for the project, strap material (nlyon webbing, leather, or sheepskin), leather cutter's needle, thread, metal clips, instructional handout and use of the instructor's Norwegian wood block collection and paints in class.
Additional Supplies
Students will be expected to bring the following materials:
- Small sharp scissors
- Acrylic quilting ruler
- A leather thimble is recommended
- Eyeglasses or maginifiying glass if needed
- Small jewelry pliers are also helpful
