When Vesterheim acquired a small box loom dated 1849, it was remarked that it resembled a doll’s cradle. The name stuck. Now they are even called cradle looms in Norway. These handy little looms can be used for many types of weaving. This one allows up to 8-inch wide weaving.
It is handmade from basswood, and is not only great for weaving, but also perfect for decorating with rosemaling (Norwegian decorative painting), Tole painting, and any painting or finish. #706A-16" by 8" by 10" wide. #706B-16" by 8" x 14" wide.
