Vesterheim Magazine Vol. 13, No. 2 2015 - Extraordinary Communities All Over the Map!
Vesterheim is published twice a year, featuring in-depth articles focusing on the museum's priceless collections of artifacts, Norwegian-American history and culture, and up-to-date information on all museum events, classes, tours, and education opportunities.
This issue explores Norwegian immigrant communities "all over the map"—a nineteenth-century idealist community in Pennsylvania; a Norwegian self-made sugarcane magnate in Hawaii; the forgotten community of Norwegians and other immigrants in mental institutions; and the Kven, a community of people of Finnish descent in Norway who also were part of Norwegian immigration to the New World.
The magazine is a benefit to Vesterheim members with extra copies for sale in the Museum Store. To ensure future issues are mailed directly to your door, join Vesterheim now at vesterheim.org.
