Norwegian Language for Travelers (On-Demand)

This is an on-demand class. After registering for the class, log into your Vesterheim Museum Store customer account to view the class videos and other content.

Whether you’re planning a trip to the stunning fjords, the vibrant cityscapes of Oslo, or the charming coastal towns, learning Norwegian will enhance your experience and help you connect with the locals in a more meaningful way. Join Dr. Maren Anderson Johnson and learn Norwegian words and phrases including:

• Greetings and farewells
• How to introduce yourself
• Common goods and purchasing
• Questions and answers to use while traveling
• Public transportation
• Asking for and getting directions
• Numbers and counting

Note: This program has been designed for students to experience on their own schedules. There is no live Zoom event and no scheduled class time – you can participate anytime during the next three months when it works for your schedule! As soon as you register, you will receive an email with information about how to log in and access the online course materials.

Supplies:

A kit of materials including workbook that supports the video instruction and a sweet treat from Vesterheim is included in the cost of registration. Shipping/handling fees will be charged at checkout.

Special Instructions:  

When registering for the class, please confirm that your Vesterheim Museum Store customer account is updated with the mailing and email addresses you'd like the kit and email instructions sent to. 

Note: On-demand classes are accessed using the login information for the customer account used to purchase them. If you would like to give an on-demand class as a gift, please purchase a gift card for the gift recipient and have them use it to register for the class themselves.

Member Discount:

Members can receive a 10% discount on registration for on-demand classes by entering the member discount code at checkout. Please email membership@vesterheim.org if you have forgotten the code or want to become a member.
