Artist Statement: 

Depictions of animals were popular on old Norwegian folk art. Originally; they were symbols in Christian teaching but then gave way to pure decoration. On this trunk, there is a bride on a unicorn, two deer and a reindeer, all subjects familiar to Norwegians in the 18th century.

Dimensions:  8 x 8.5 x 5.75 inches.

Louise became interested in rosemaling 35 years ago and achieved a Vesterheim Gold Medal in Rosemaling in 2017. She enjoys the creativity of designing in different styles and passing her knowledge to others.
