2024-12-15 — Lost and Found: Norwegian-American Fiddle Tunes – Listening to the Past (Online)

Join Beth Hoven Rotto, guest curator for Vesterheim's Hand Me Down the Fiddle exhibit, for the first in a series of four online classes to learn forgotten Norwegian-American fiddle tunes! In this sesion, titled "Listening to the Past," participants will learn to excel at listening, develop skills for imitating what they hear, and discuss techniques for focused practice. 

Each workshop in this series will stand alone, but attending all is encouraged. Each session will include learning two tunes with access to a recording of the workshop.

Level of Instruction: 

Intermediate - All tunes will be in first position and taught by ear.

Supplies:

Students will need to provide their own instrument as well as a computer, laptop, or tablet with a camera and mic as well as a fast, reliable internet connection.
