Flatweaves From Fjord And Forest by Peter Willborg
This is the first book in English to celebrate the little-known woven art of Scandinavia. It contains 46 full-color plates of rare and unpublished examples of indigenous tapestry designs, all of which display an astonishing variety of pattern, geometric, floral, and figurative, woven in glowing natural dyes. The text is written by Peter Willborg of Stockholm who, as well as being Sweden's leading dealer in oriental rugs, has made a special study of these textiles and carried out extensive field research throughout the province of Skåne, which was Sweden's most prolific weaving area in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
