Location: 

This is an in-person class held at Vesterheim Folk Art School. 

 

In this introductory class, students will learn how to print, cut, and sew ornaments and/or wrist warmers from a sheepskin or skinnfell.  David and Lynn will share their traditional Norwegian wood blocks to use in class. Students will stamp a variety of beautiful designs (perfect for holiday decorating or gifts). As student’s progress, they will have the option to discuss additional projects with the instructors. At the end of the class, students will have the skills and enough material to continue sewing projects at home.

 

Level of Instruction: 

Beginner 

Supplies: 

A $60 supply fee covers the use of all tools, materials and one sheepskin.

Students are encouraged to bring a small pair of sharp scissors 5-6” long, thimble, notebook, and pen.

Optional: smooth jaw needle nose pliers, plexiglass ruler, and binder clips. We will have extra for students to share, no need for students to purchase these.

We will provide the skin, linen thread, leather needles, and ink.
