Artist Statement:
This small case is a more contemporary take on the old-style traveling cases seen in museum collections. It is done in the same bentwood method with steel trim, but with a more contemporary flare.

Ames, Iowa based woodworker, Bill Rickard, has been in the craft since he first crawled into his father's shop. Since growing up in a cabinet shop, he learned contemporary and traditional woodworking. After retiring from Iowa State University as a technician in Aerospace Engineering, he has been exploring green woodworking, such as spoon carving, shrink boxes, and recently bentwood boxes. He has also shown at Midwest art shows, demonstrates and teaches at craft shows, folk schools, and from his shop.
