- Location: This is an online class hosted on Zoom.
- Instructor: Rachael Saum
- Level of Instruction: Beginner Friendly
Description
Join rosemaler Rachael Saum and explore basic rosemaling techniques and paint a Dala Horse for yourself or a loved one. Inspired by the long history of rosemaling, Rachael has created a design for both young and old to enjoy in their rosemaling journey. This program is the perfect way to explore the traditional handcraft of rosemaling as a family.
In this program students will learn to paint with acrylics.
Supplies
The $35-per-family price covers the cost of a special folk art class kit designed for two participants to explore rosemaling. Kit includes all folk art materials needed, some images as inspiration from the Vesterheim collection, and a treat. Because of the specialized materials included in this kit, this class is best suited for children ages 8+ with an adult.
If you are registering for this class in a location outside the United States, you will need to provide your own supplies. Please contact folkartschool@vesterheim.org when you register for more information about what materials are required for this class.
Additional Supplies
Students will need to provide a computer, laptop, or tablet with a camera and mic as well as a fast, reliable internet connection.
