This intro-level class covers the foundations of carving freshly cut wood as we make a few joyful crafts from small diameter wood (aka "sticks"). Our projects will give us the opportunity to better understand wood fibers and learn how to carve them effectively using safe knife techniques. Along the way we'll discuss sourcing materials and learn how to maintain our carving knives.

A complete kit of materials shipped to your home and valued at $100 is included in the cost of registration. The kit includes a knife, safety gloves, a strop and stropping compound, try sticks, and a sweet treat from Vesterheim. It is included in the cost of registration and will be mailed to you!
