2025-01-18 — Wool Embroidered Sheepskin Mittens (Online)
Schedule:
Instructor:
Location:
Jump into a cozy, interdisciplinary experience of all things sheep with this unique project! Explore Scandinavian-style wool-on-wool embroidery using hand-dyed wool yarns from the instructor’s sheep on upcycled washed wool fabric, as well as learn how to stitch a shearling sheepskin pelt to create the comfy chopper-style mittens. The leather is from the sheep at the instructor’s farm and is naturally bark tanned.
An exciting attribute of this class is the sourcing network of the beautiful items that will arrive in your kit. Three, small-scale woman-owned operations from rural Wisconsin make each of the elements possible—the instructor's farm that raises the sheep, the artisan mill that spins and dyes the yarn, and the natural tannery that turns the hides into leather.
Savor this multi-faceted course infused with cozy stories and warm hands for years to come.
