Location: 

This is an in-person class held at Vesterheim Folk Art School. 

 

This class is about traditional Norwegian dragon style carving ranging from post Viking era to the present revival.

Basswood carving blanks for instruction in sculptural carving, as in drinking vessels, and relief carved ornamentation will be offered. You will have the opportunity to use the instructor's designs, or the instructors can help you develop your very own designs.

Come join us for an exploration into the world of dragon carving! 


 Level of Instruction: 

All levels are welcome.

 

Supplies: 

Limited number of carving tools will be available to loan. Please bring any carving tools that you think may be useful. If you plan to draw bring a good quality 4-B pencil and a good eraser. Bring books that may offer inspiration. Bring your sharpening stones and straps.
There will be a materials fee for carving blanks paid directly to the instructors.
