This is an in-person class held at Vesterheim Folk Art School. 

 

We all know how much Viking men and women loved their jewelry. Archaeologists are still discovering buried hordes of silver and gold rings, earrings, pendants, and bracelets today! Explore your inner medieval artisan and join Liz for an introduction to the art of silversmithing. Students will create an adjustable sterling silver band-style ring using a variety of stamped surface designs – no soldering needed. Students will learn to saw, sand, stamp, hammer, and polish. 

 

Level of Instruction: 

All levels are welcome. No experience is necessary but a willingness to use hand tools is required. 

Supplies: 

All tools and materials will be provided. A $125 material fee will be payed directly to the instructor and includes tools. Extra magnification (cheaters, jewelers loupe or magnifying lamp) is highly recommended.
