2024-06 – Family Language Adventure: Life North of the Arctic Circle (Online)

OL.2024.Q2.57
$30.00

Schedule:

Begins June 1, Available all month!

Instructor:

Nick Rogness

Location:

This is an online class.

Join us for some family fun and learn some Norwegian language and culture along the way! Through hands-on activities, fun crafts, light-hearted games, and short videos, you and your family will learn and practice your new Norwegian skills. A kit will be delivered right to your home containing supplies for these language activities, a helpful reference sheet for all the new words and expressions you will be learning, a fun craft, and a yummy treat.

The adventure starts on June 1, and the vocabulary and phrases will focus on life north of the Arctic Circle! The instructional videos teaching you these key terms will be short to ensure you have plenty of time to be active and cozy up together as a family. These videos and activities are geared towards all ages, but most appropriate for families with school-age children.

You and your family will be spending time together, enjoying the learning adventure, and sharing in outdoor activities. Our scavenger-hunt-type activity will get you up and moving, exploring, and embracing the adventure wherever you are and whenever you choose.

This program has been designed for families to experience on their own schedules. There is no live Zoom event and no scheduled class time – your family can participate anytime during the month when it works for your schedule!

This program is supported in part by a generous gift to the Vesterheim Annual Fund from Jane Kemp in memory of Don Kemp.

Supplies:

The $30-per-family price covers the cost of a special adventure kit, which includes language activities, reference sheets, fun hands-on craft activity, snack, and directions for downloading and using the Goosechase app (a free app that is downloadable on any iOS or Android device).
