As a former historical artist for National Geographic TV, Sven Lindauer has been painting world themes and traveling the globe for decades. This book of his paintings is a well-researched color narrative of a 'day in the life' documentation of people from his heritage. There are 21 paintings depicting many of the artisans and craftspeople together; the shipbuilder, the stonecutter, the runemaster, the village builders, the musicians, the blacksmith, the meadmaker, the sailmakers, the navigator, and so on. Each painting in this book is accompanied by a full-color vignette explaining sections of the original paintings, and the detailed story of each theme, taking place between 700 and 1000 CE.
