Description

The project will be a box made from basswood with black walnut trim. Measuring 5.5 inches square and 3 inches tall, this box is the perfect size to showcase your carving.

You’ll have the option to choose from six different patterns—ranging from beginner-friendly to more advanced designs—so you can work at your own comfort level. Each pattern will highlight the natural beauty of the box and enhance its eye-catching black walnut accents. The finished piece makes a wonderful keepsake or a thoughtful gift for birthdays, weddings, or any special occasion.

Some of the topics covered:

· Carving safety and proper tool handling

· How to apply and follow patterns

· Techniques for three-sided chips, lines, and curves

· Carving larger chips without chip-outs

· How to fix mistakes

· Finishing techniques
