Schedule:
November 15 (9:00-5:00 pm CT)
Instructor:
Darlene Fossum Martin
Location:
This is an in-person class held in Decorah at the Oneota Community Food Co-op Classroom Kitchen.
In this hands-on class, learn the secrets to successfully make seven of the most popular and time-honored Norwegian Christmas cookies for your holiday season: goro (the oldest recorded cookie); sandbakkeler (sand tarts); sirupsnipper (syrup diamonds); Berlinerkranser (Berlin wreaths); strull and krumkaker (cookie cones); fattigman (poor man's cookies); and rosettes (delicate deep fried cookies). Recipes will be shared, along with many helpful hints.
Level of Instruction:
Open to all levels.
Supplies:
There will be an ingredient fee, payable to the instructor.
Please Note: Students should bring some containers to bring home small batches of each of the cookies. Tin or cardboard containers work well as cookies are delicate. The instructor personally does not prefer plastic.
Enrollment Deadline:
October 25, 2025
