This is an online class hosted on Zoom.
Explore the beauty and fun of beading on a loom in the Scandinavian tradition! Inspired by designs from Nordic bandweaving, this class will take you from start to finish for making your own sparkly beaded bookmark. Learn about the historic use of loom beading and how a remarkably simple process can transform seed beads into delightful designs.
Supplies:
As part of your registration, a full kit of materials ($85 value), including a hand-made wooden beading loom designed by the instructor, silk thread, beading needles, seed beads, drafted project patterns to make two projects, and a sweet treat from Vesterheim, will be shipped to your home!
Please note: Returning students who have already taken Scandinavian Loom Beading with Laura Berlage through Vesterheim in the past and previously received class supplies can register for the class with a partial kit to receive only the thread, beads, needles, patterns, and sweet treat. If you select this option, you will be responsible for providing the loom from your previous class.
Students must provide a sharp thread scissors and good lighting.
If you are registering for this class in a location outside the United States, you will need to provide your own supplies. Please contact folkartschool@vesterheim.org when you register for more information about what materials are required for this class.
Additional Supplies:
Students will need to provide a computer, laptop, or tablet with a camera and mic as well as a fast, reliable internet connection.

When registering for the class, Please make sure to use the addresses where you'd like the kit and Zoom meeting invitations sent to. You will receive links to the Zoom sessions by email sometime during the week prior to the class. If this class is a gift, please sign up with the recipient's mailing and email addresses or be prepared to forward the kit and all communications.
