Writing Family Stories: Poetry (Online)

Mondays, November 7 and 14 (6:00-7:30 pm CT)

Kathleen Ernst

This is an online class hosted on Zoom.

Learn how to illuminate powerful moments from your family or ethnic history. Through guided writing activities, you will practice distilling memories to their essence. Writing poetry can help you focus on specific themes and recollections before moving to a larger project, or create a beautiful collection on its own. After our first session, you’ll have a week to reflect and write before we gather again.

A kit of materials shipped to your home (a $45 value!) with a beautiful journal, high quality pen, and one of Kathleen's poetry collections is included in the cost of registration.

Students will need to provide a computer, laptop, or tablet with a camera and mic as well as a fast, reliable internet connection.

If you are registering for this class in a location outside the United States, you will need to provide your own supplies. Please contact folkartschool@vesterheim.org when you register for more information about what materials are required for this class.
