Dr. Maren Johnson, Luther College's Associate Professor of Nordic Studies and Torgerson Center for Nordic Studies Director, facilitates a regular bokprat, discussing Scandinavian authors and Scandinavian life. In our May bokprat, we will discuss Kristin Lavransdatter (Vol. 1 - The Wreath) by Sigrid Undset.
The cycle follows the life of Kristin Lavransdatter, a fictitious Norwegian woman living in the 14th century. Kristin grows up in Sel in the Gudbrand Valley, the daughter of a well-respected and affluent farmer. She experiences a number of conflicts in her relationships with her parents in medieval Norway.

Registrants should secure their own copy of the book (available for purchase soon through Vesterheim Museum Store) and have read it prior to the discussion.
Additional Supplies:
Students will need to provide a computer, laptop, or tablet with a camera and mic as well as a fast, reliable internet connection.
