2023-06-24 – Rosemaling in the Aust-Agder Style (Online)

Saturday, June 24 (9:00 am-Noon and 2:00-5:00 pm CT) and Sunday, June 25 (1:00-3:30 pm CT)

This is an online class hosted on Zoom.  

Although the various Agders and the Setesdal styles are similar in many ways, there are a small number of design elements that are unique to Aust-Agder. In this class, we will learn about the Aust-Agder style as we paint a design created just for this class. We will paint a traditional design using traditional colors.

This class is designed for intermediate to experienced rosemalers, but experienced painters who are new to rosemaling will also be successful. As always, the main goals of a Vesterheim class is to create community and have fun while learning!

Supplies:  

A kit of materials valued at $70 containing paints, brushes, medium, a wooden plate, sandpaper, and a sweet treat from Vesterheim is included in the cost of registration and will be mailed you. 

If you are registering for this class in a location outside the United States, you will need to provide your own supplies. Please contact folkartschool@vesterheim.org when you register for more information about what materials are required for this class.

Additional Supplies: 

Students need to provide basic household supplies such as paper towels, plastic wrap, and a pencil. Students will also need to provide a computer, laptop, or tablet with a camera and mic as well as a fast, reliable internet connection.

You will receive links to the Zoom sessions by email sometime during the week prior to the class.
