2023-06-08 - American Rogaland Miniature Trunk
Thursday, June 8 - Sunday, June 11 (9:00 am-Noon, 1:00-5:00 pm)
This is an in-person class held at Vesterheim Folk Art School.
In this class, Ruth will provide designs in the American Rogaland style. Ruth is influenced by the rosemaling of rosemalers Bjerljot Lunde and Vi Thode. The class project is a miniature trunk, approximately 11.5 x 7 x 6 inch high. The project will be available through the Vesterheim Museum Store. The class will be taught in oils, but proficient acrylic painters are most welcome. Patterns and palette mixes (both oil and acrylic) will be provided. Students may paint on wood or on prepared practice surfaces during the class. The picture shown is not the class project but shows the style that will be taught.
Level of Instruction:
Level of instruction: All levels, but some experience with basics of mixing paint, applying a pattern, and brush handling is required. Youth ages 15-17 are welcome.
Supply list will be shared by the instructor closer to class.
