2023-02-06 – Advanced Natural Dyeing: Logwood (Online)
Mondays, February 6 - 20 (6:00-8:00 pm CT)
This is an online class hosted on Zoom.
In this beyond-beginning dye class, we'll take a deep dive working with historic logwood dye. Producing a range of colors from purples to blues, we’ll talk light fastness, modifiers, and mineral content. We'll also look at the ways dyes can appear different on a variety of fabrics. Students will have the freedom to “choose their own adventure” or follow guided studies. Participants should be comfortable mordanting and making a dye bath and should have dye equipment on hand.
A kit of supplies ($55 value) including materials for course, specialty mordants, and modifiers for future dye projects is included in the registration fee. Additionally necessary will be a computer, laptop, or tablet with a camera and mic as well as a fast, reliable internet connection.
If you are registering for this class in a location outside the United States, you will need to provide your own supplies. Please contact email@example.com when you register for more information about what materials are required for this class.
This class is designed fro students who have enrolled in a dye class with Lesley through Vesterheim or elsewhere and can comfortably mordant and dye fabrics. Please don't hesitate to email firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions!
