This is an online class hosted on Zoom. 

Build on your skills gained in the introductory course on wool embroidery to embrace color, layering, and a host of new stitches. From the painterly “long and short” to the sculped “burden stitch” or layered “battlement couching” and so many more, learn how to reimagine classic favorites and interpret new combinations of stitches to bring depth and life to your piece. With 10 colors of wool embroidery thread from the instructor’s sheep, you’ll be able to transform a linen backing with this lively floral motif.

Prerequisites: 

This class is designed for graduates of Laura Berlage's Level 1 Introduction to Wool Embroidery class.

Supplies:

Included in the cost of registration for this class is a kit of materials valued at $110! The kit will include a linen fabric backing with hand-drawn design, ten colors of wool yarn from instructor’s sheep, an embroidery needle, and more.

Students must provide an 8-inch embroidery hoop and sharp thread scissors. Embroidery stands are optional but recommended.

If you are registering for this class in a location outside the United States, you will need to provide your own supplies. Please contact folkartschool@vesterheim.org when you register for more information about what materials are required for this class.

Additional Supplies:

Students will need to provide a computer, laptop, or tablet with a camera and mic as well as a fast, reliable internet connection.
