2023-10-11 – Sparkly Pewter Thread Pendant (Online)

Wednesday, October 11 (6:00-8:00 pm CT)

Liz Bucheit

This is an online class hosted on Zoom.

Are you ready for a new twist on tradition? Using pewter wire thread and a macramé style weave, you will create a beautiful pendant with a silver drop. Kit materials will provide you the option to create either a round or V-shaped pendant suspended from enough leather cord to accommodate your preferred necklace length, or you can use a chain of your own! No previous experience is necessary, but a willingness to use hand tools is required.

Skill level:

All levels of proficiency are welcome. Please be advised that good hand strength and good eyesight (we suggest the addition of magnifier glasses) is recommended.

A kit of materials (valued at $35), containing pewter thread, sterling silver wires, a silver teardrop charm, sterling silver jump rings, black leather cord, is included in the cost of registration and will be mailed to your home.
Kits come with all supplies needed with the exception of pliers. Two flat nose pliers are required, but if you don’t own a pair they can be purchased in addition to your kit.
If you are registering for this class in a location outside the United States, you will need to provide your own supplies. Please contact folkartschool@vesterheim.org when you register for more information about what materials are required for this class.

Additional Supplies:

Students will need to provide a computer, laptop, or tablet with a camera and mic as well as a fast, reliable internet connection.

Special Instructions:

When registering for the class, please make sure to use the addresses where you'd like the kit and Zoom meeting invitations sent to. You will receive links to the Zoom sessions by email sometime during the week prior to the class. If this class is a gift, please sign up with the recipient's mailing and email addresses or be prepared to forward the kit and all communications.
