This is an in-person class held at Vesterheim Folk Art School.

 

Do you know someone who carves wood? Did you ever wonder how they learned to do it? Here’s your opportunity to take your first steps toward becoming a whittler. You’ll learn a variety of different types of carving from an experienced teacher. Discover all the different things you can make with some wood, a knife, and your imagination.

 

Level of Instruction:

Beginning. This program is designed for youth from 5th to 12th grades (about ages 10-17). 


Supplies:

Please bring a water bottle and if your child has special dietary needs, please consider packing their own snack. 

Additional Information:

Whittling Klubb will begin each class at Vesterheim's Bruening Visitor Center in the Westby-Torgerson Education Center at the corner of Mechanic and Water Streets. A Folk Art School staff member will be there to greet students as they arrive. Vesterheim Folk Art School does not provide a walking school bus for Whittling Klubb. Parents are welcome to independently coordinate students to meet and walk to Vesterheim together.
