2024-01-26 Rosemaling in the Style of Knut Hovden (Online)
Join instructor Kim Garrett for an exploration into the rosemaling of Knut Hovden, the first rosemaler to be asked to teach at the folk school in Sand, Rogaland, Norway, where, under his influence, rosemaling continued to flourish in the first half of the 1900s.
The first evening, Kim will share Knut Hovden’s story and discuss several pieces of his work. The second day, you will paint a small project in his style.
Come learn about one of the rosemaling masters of the early twentieth century, as well as paint a piece inspired by his work.
This class will be taught in oils.
Students will need to provide a computer, laptop, or tablet with a camera and mic as well as a fast, reliable internet connection.
When registering for the class, please make sure to use the mailing and email addresses you'd like the Zoom meeting invitations sent to. You will receive links to the Zoom sessions by email sometime during the week prior to the class. If this class is a gift, please sign up with the recipient's mailing and email addresses or be prepared to forward the kit and all communications.
