$120.00

Schedule:

Wednesday, January 24 (6:00-8:00 pm CT)

Instructor:

Liz Bucheit

Location:

This is an online class hosted on Zoom.

Explore a new “twist” on a traditional craft! Using pewter wire thread and a macramé-style weave, students will create a pair of hoop earrings with a silver drop and sterling silver French hook ear wires. Finished hoops are approximately one-inch in diameter and display a soft shimmery sparkle in sunlight and candle light. No previous experience is necessary, but a willingness to use hand tools is required.

Skill level:

All levels of proficiency are welcome. Please be advised that good hand strength and good eyesight (we suggest the addition of magnifier glasses) is recommended.

Supplies:

A kit of materials valued at $90 containing pewter thread, sterling silver wires, sterling silver french hook earwigs, silver teardrop charms, sterling silver jump rings is included in the cost of registration and will be mailed to you.

Two flat nose pliers are required. If you don’t have a pair, they can be purchased from the Museum Store.

If you are registering for this class in a location outside the United States, you will need to provide your own supplies. Please contact folkartschool@vesterheim.org when you register for more information about what materials are required for this class.

Additional Supplies:

Students will need to provide a computer, laptop, or tablet with a camera and mic as well as a fast, reliable internet connection.
