2024-01-06 Knit a Norwegian-Inspired Hat (Online)



Four Saturdays, January 6-27 (11:00 am-12:30 pm CT)

This is an online class hosted on Zoom. 


Join Kate Running to learn how to work with two colors of yarn to make this patterned hat. Work with a Nordic-inspired motif and learn the cultural tradition of stranded knitting. Intermediate level, no colorwork experience necessary. Yarn is provided.  Students may choose to provide their own yarn to swap out with the yarn that is sent in the kit. 



A kit of materials (a $40 value!) shipped to your home including Strikkegarn yarn is included in the cost of registration. 

If you are registering for this class in a location outside the United States, you will need to provide your own supplies. Please contact folkartschool@vesterheim.org when you register for more information about what materials are required for this class.

Additional Supplies:

In addition to the materials included in the kit, students will need to provide the following needles: either size US 6 DPNs  OR a 32-inch US 6 needle for the magic loop method. As well as Needles: US 4 (3.5 mm) – 16” circular needle + US 6 (4.0 mm) – 16” circular 

Students will also need to provide a computer, laptop, or tablet with a camera and mic as well as a fast, reliable internet connection. 

Special Instructions:  

When registering for the class, please make sure to use the mailing and email addresses you'd like the Zoom meeting invitations sent to. You will receive links to the Zoom sessions by email sometime during the week prior to the class. If this class is a gift, please sign up with the recipient's mailing and email addresses or be prepared to forward the kit and all communications.
