The Basics of Rosemaling (Online)
Mondays, September 12-October 10 (6:00-7:30 pm CT)
This is an online class hosted on Zoom.
Have you heard the saying you have to learn to walk before you can run? That thought is the same for rosemaling. Before you paint, you can learn a few things to help you on your rosemaling journey. Join others for five evenings of learning some basic, yet helpful, concepts. This class is a mixture of discussion and hands-on experiences to reinforce the learning.
Topic will include:
- Styles of rosemaling: who knew there were so many?
- Woodenware: what to look for, how to prepare it, how to background.
- Oils vs Acrylics: pros and cons, brands, quality (artist grade vs student/craft grade).
- Brushes: what type is good for rosemaling, how to hold them, how to care for them.
- Basic Paint Palettes: what colors to use for different styles, how to mix paint.
Come with your questions!
