2024-11-02 — Traditional Fiddle Tunes from Agder (Online)

Join Norwegian fiddler Gard Nergaard to learn traditional fiddle tunes from Agder in southern Norway! You'll leave class with new tunes for your next jam session, and you'll learn nuanced fiddle technique that will help you for years to come. This class is offered in conjunction with Vesterheim's Hand Me Down the Fiddle exhibit.
Gard will teach the class on Hardanger fiddle, but players of all instruments are welcome to join. Participants using a standard fiddle can choose to transpose up a step or use a violin capo (available for purchase from a variety of online vendors).
Level of Instruction:
Intermediate - All tunes will be taught by ear.
Additional Supplies:
Students will need to provide a computer, laptop, or tablet with a camera and mic as well as a fast, reliable internet connection.
