From the "Nordic Folk Art" Series designed by Suzanne Toftey. This is a tribute to Hans Sandom, the renowned Acanthus carver. In this scene, Hans is giving a carving lesson to his twin grandchildren, Cambrie and Riley. Hans is an immigrant from Folldal, Norway. He has over 37 years of carving experience in Acanthus and Rococo styles and specializes in furniture. He earned the Vesterheim Gold Medal in 1985 and was awarded first prize in Acanthus carving from the International Wood Carvers Congress in Davenport, Iowa.
