Decorah Waltz by Foot-Notes - CD

From Decorah, Iowa, the remarkable Norwegian-American style band Foot-Notes performs dance tunes collected from their regular dances in the old Highlandville schoolhouse, where many people still come and enjoy themselves with dancing and socializing. Foot-Notes is able to offer a glimpse of the invigorating influence of music on the early Norwegian-American community life in Northeast Iowa-—an influence that is strong to this day. Songs include "Gust Ellingson's Schottische," "Decorah Waltz," "Per Spelmann," "Springtime Two-Step," and of course the well-loved "Highlandville Waltz."
